The importance of three balanced meals a day /diet. You may have been prescribed medication, this will be helpful, and is sometimes required to give you that head start. But there are many ways in which you can help yourself progress even more quickly. Fruits and Vegetables are so easily pushed to the side and dismissed, but are beneficial to daily health as they give the correct nutrients that the brain requires. The benefits of WATER cannot be emphasized enough, your brain is screaming out for this valuable resource. I CANNOT EAT I FEEL SICK! There is no excuse; you must start by eating at least a little. Firstly start off with the right kind of food. A bowl of cereal may be too overwhelming when you are feeling nauseated and un-well, so place your cereal into a cup instead, the same can be done with your fruit. Try serving your main meal on a small plate. DIET = FUEL FOR YOUR TANK Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Just Think about it. You have been asleep for approximately 8 hours; your body is so low on fuel. A cup of coffee first thing in the morning is not a good selection. Try and choose a bowl of cereal, as well as a piece of fruit or a protein food, then a cup of coffee. If all of the above was in a pill, and it would make you feel better, you would grab at it with both hands. LUNCH – is just as important so try and use some leafy green vegetables and protein with this meal. Instead of reaching for white bread, instead choose a multi grain. Water – fill a one litre bottle with water, try and drink this through the day. If you do not like water you may surprise yourself, as you will acquire a taste for it. Just remember this is your brain food, and if you want to recover you must feed your brain. Dinner or Tea. A selection of 3 vegetables and a protein for the evening meal, the portions do not need to be large try and aim for the size of the palm of your hand for each selection. Cut down on potatoes, as you need green and orange vegetables to help your brain function at full capacity.
